A place to go in Ocean Shores

Over the fourth of July many people wanted to tent and camp but there was very few parks available close to the main part of Ocean Shores. What a person needs to do is buy their own lot fix it how they want to camp and go with it. There are many different areas in the 2 mile X 5 mile town. If a person wants to be right on the Pacific Ocean then buy a lot on that side of town. If some one wants to have a place to let the kids play and swim buy a place on Duck lake and drive to the Ocean, its just across town. There are so many inexpensive options for the young family to start out with just to save a couple of dollars. Get the lot, put a shed on it and come down and play in this beautiful sunshine we have been getting around here. The mornings start out overcast but the days have been clearing off to be nicer than inland areas such as Hoquiam and Aberdeen. Come and enjoy the summer with us and see what advantages it will give you in the winter. Our weather is not half as bad as it can get in Seattle/Tacoma areas. Ask any local, when winds get to 70 mile an hour we just say that's a breeze.

Memorial Day Weekend

Another great weekend at the beach. Just like normal coastal weather it rained almost the whole weekend but it was great to see everyone having a good time. Many people came from all around to play on the beach. Now there are new things to look for while beach combing. In the local paper it was announced that someone actually found a glass float on the beach. This is not usually the time of year to find any good treasures, let alone a real true glass float. How awesome would that be.
Now, everyone seems to be getting antsy about doing yard work and just getting out and enjoying the area. The weather is to start getting nicer for us around here but what the weatherman tells us and what we get can truly end up being two different things. One thing that is nice, just because the weatherman may say it is going to rain, does not mean that it will. The truest weather report I have gotten around here is looking out my front window. Sometimes if you don't like what you see out that window find another one to look out, it might look better that direction. The weather truly does change every five minutes around here. I have been out in my yard doing work and have it start raining right on me and look across the street and it will be showing blue sky and not a cloud in the sky that direction. This is what really makes it fun at the beach it is always changing. It may not cooperate with what you may want to do but it always keeps it interesting. It is like living on the edge in our own little world.

Beauty on the Beach

Well, another beautiful mothers day has come and gone in Ocean Shores. The way coastal weather is you never know what it will be like one day to the next. The community is getting ready for our busy time of year. Everyone gets excited with the antisapation of business picking up and events kicking into gear. Right now just waiting for the Memorial weekend holiday to get hear. Three days of people wandering around checking out our little community and enjoying our beaches. During the three day weekend holiday our convention center will be hosting a Home and Garden show for everyone to enjoy. What a perfect time to let the kids run around and enjoy all the things the area has to offer, so the parents can get ideas to take back to their homes. This is also a good way to get ideas for lots that can be easily converted into great family camping sites. Many lots around this area need some TLC. Properties that are located on water, which is easy to do around here, have been just sadly neglected. Cut a couple bushes down put in a deep fire pit, bring in some soft dirt and the next thing you know your enjoying a weekend with your family at the beach. The way this area fills up during holidays such as 4th of July and other summer events it is worth the cost to get a lot clean it up just a little and you will always have a place to stay.
